Media literacy is the ability to access the media, to understand and to critically evaluate different aspects of the media and media contents and to create communications in a variety of contexts. It includes all media.

What do you think about it?


 

Media literacy is a matter of inclusion and citizenship in today's information society. It is a fundamental skill not only for young people but also for adults and elderly people, parents, teachers and media professionals.

Do you agree?



During the dates 05 – 07 of August 2021 the 2nd TPM of the project was organized in Kavala, Greece. The aims of the meeting included evaluation and dissemination of first year outputs, working on outputs, intermediary reports both on finance and project activities. During the meeting, the importance of MEDIA LITERACY during the COVID-19 pandemic was also discussed.

Regarding the last sentence which is your personal opinion?

INTERVIEW WITH A FAMOUS LOCAL JOURNALIST IN KAVALA, GREECE

On Tuesday 28 of January 2020, at 10:30 am, a meeting was held at the building of offices of  Nea Egnatia newspaper, alpha radio station situated in Kavala city center.
Mr. Constantinos Tsigas, the owner of the company and quite experienced journalist was interview by the group of students participated in the activity. First he was asked questions about his experience, then about what are the advantages and disadvantages of social media and what changes have they brought about.
A very important question, he was asked was if parents should be more strict towards their children and  their relationship with social media.

The participating students from IEK Kavalas were: Evaggelia Athanasiadi, Aikaterini-Andriana Karaproimou and Alexandros Baziamis.
